Shipping Policies

Standard Shipping:

  • If you select our standard shipping method please note that it can take up to 7-10 business days from shipping date for your order to arrive. If you need your items quickly we highly recommend upgrading your shipping to US Priority Mail which takes about 2-5 business days from shipping date or by shipping INSURED UPS shipping which takes about 3-6 business days from shipping date.
  • If you place multiple orders within a short time period we are unable to combine shipping costs, however we may combine orders into one package for shipping.

US Priority Mail:
Shipping with US Priority Mail takes approximately 2-5 business days from the date of shipment to arrive. Please note that this is NOT a guaranteed service and shipping times are approximate(this timeframe does NOT apply for APO addresses). 

Package Insurance:

  1.  If you want your package insured, we recommend choosing Package Insurance at checkout.
  2. Package insurance only covers lost or damaged packages. Once USPS shows a package as delivered, SoftBums Diapers is no longer responsible for the package and the contents. If a package is stolen or missing once it's listed as delivered we urge you to contact the delivery driver and/or file a police report. 
  3. If you do not purchase insurance we cannot be responsible for packages once they leave our warehouse so we strongly encourage the purchase of insurance.

Return Policies

SoftBums accepts all returns purchased from and that have been unused and unwashed within a period of 180 days (6 months) from date of purchase.  Only items purchased directly from SoftBums will be accepted for return, and only when accompanied by an original receipt.  Refund will be in the amount of original purchase minus shipping and a 10% restocking fee.  Refunds do not include promotions, coupons or other discounts used for purchase; refunds will equal the amount actually paid, minus the 10% restocking fee.  Shipping of returned items to SoftBums is solely the responsibility of the customer and will not be reimbursed.  Items that have been washed or used will not be accepted for return.

If your diapers are no longer covered under warranty or used, they can no longer be returned to SoftBums. However, SoftBums diapers have a great resale value and there are many people looking for good used diapers.  You can try reselling them on Craigslist or other online forums such as our own Facebook page.


SoftBums Warranty

SoftBums Diapers are a premium brand, made with the best industrial materials we can source, and proudly made in the USA.  We stand behind our product.  However, diapers are but mere fabric and thread, and are greatly affected by your wash routine.  Care can be taken to extend the life of your SoftBums diaper, but eventually they will wear out just like every garment.  “One-size” is not the same as “lasts forever”.  If however, you baby your Shells and own enough to not have to wash every day, your diapers should last a long time.  Many parents have SoftBums Shells that have lasted through 2 children and still going strong.  Here is our warranty with some tips to keep them going strong.

Your SoftBums warranty starts from the original purchase date.  The warranty fully covers manufacturing defects, toggle replacement, PUL function, and faulty parts upon arrival including snaps, toggles and elastic.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic flaws that do not affect function, wear & tear, leaks, stinks, general wear down of parts like elastic, hook & loop, snaps, runs in the PUL, or holes.  Warranty is valid for new diapers bought directly from SoftBums or another licensed retailer with proof of purchase.



Toggles are a vital part of the SoftBums system and any problems associated with your SoftBums toggles, or Slide²Size system, are fully covered for up to 12 months!  We also offer genuine SoftBums toggles for sale on our website, for all other toggle replacement needs.  Please contact us at [email protected] to apply for an RMA for repair or replacement of your SoftBums diaper and we will promptly help you!  Please note that if your toggle is slipping into the leg casing of your diaper, this is a separate issue that can often be solved right at home. Or:  If your toggles are slipping along the elastic, your elastic is probably gone or going, please refer to the elastic warranty.  If your toggles are showing any rust, this is cosmetic only, and will not affect the function at all.  Please contact customer service at [email protected] for help.  Also, please visit our VIDEO PAGE for more help on this subject. 



Snaps will be covered under warranty for up to 30 days  Broken, non-functioning snaps.  This does not include snap 'runs' in the PUL, or any holes around the snaps caused by wear or stretching of the fabric.  Snaps breaking or falling off are very rare, and can be avoided by taking care not to pull too hard on the end of the Pod when removing.  Gently pulling nearest to the snap itself will prolong the life of both the fabric and the snap. You can quickly and easily get a snap replaced on your Diaper if you find someone who owns a Snap Pliers.  They are readily available, and some people in our SoftBums Superfans Group are a great resource to help too if you can find someone near you with a Snap Pliers to help you with your diaper if it's out of warranty.  It literally just takes a minute to replace, here is the link to that group  There is also a short video on our DiaperTV page.  If you have any questions about snaps please contact us at [email protected] !


 Hook & Loop- 

Hook & Loop will be covered under warranty for up to 30 days.  This does not include fraying, shrunken, or worn Hook & Loop.  These things are normally due to overheating in the washer or dryer.  The best way to take care of your Hook & Loop is to hang dry your shells, instead of putting them in the dryer.



SoftBums will cover elastic sewing flaws up to 30 days.  If your elastic needs replacement after the 30 days, there are affordable elastic replacement kits available to all customers on our SoftBums website HERE.

Because elastic integrity can be very susceptible to certain wash routines, we do not cover 'shot elastic'.  Please be careful NOT to soak your diapers, NOT to use vinegar, NOT to use other chemicals in your wash routine that may have been recommended online.   It can cause your diapers to die, and could also cause harm to your baby from a very bad rash.  If your elastic does die however do not despair.  We at SoftBums are here to help, and it's actually ridiculously easy to replace your SoftBums elastic compared to other brands.  Also, please visit our VIDEOS for more info on replacing and taking care of your elastic!  SoftBums is the EASIEST elastic to replace of ANY major brand!



PUL delamination is very rare, but is covered for 30 days (see our blog post here about how to tell if it is “true delamination”).  Any leaking is usually something other than a problem with the PUL, and we are happy to help troubleshoot any leaking questions!  Please email us at [email protected] for help!



Sewing Flaws or holes in material are covered for 30 days from date of purchase.  Bamboo is a delicate fiber and needs to be treated kindly.  Please DO NOT dry Bamboo Pods outside in direct sunlight, and DO NOT dry in dryer on HOT.  This will damage your Pods.  Please see our complete list of care instructions HERE, and feel free to contact us for help concerning care of your Pods.  [email protected]



Leaks are never covered under warranty, however we are here to help. 

Almost all leaks are caused by an error in fit or absorbency, and often a simple correction can fix the problem permanently.  Leaks are very common for first time cloth diaper users.  So, if you are getting leaks and you just started with cloth diapers, or just started with SoftBums cloth diapers, don’t despair!  It’s usually a VERY simple fix*!  We see fit issues that lead to leaks, most often with newborns because their legs are so tiny, and it can take some trial and error to get the fit right.  If you are getting leaks after a bit of trial and error on your own, please don’t suffer in silence!  Our experienced staff has helped hundreds of parents just like you have a happy and dry diapering experience.  Please see a list of videos on our DiaperTVpage for fit help.  And let our experts help get your family using and loving SoftBums too!




The Fine Print:

This warranty does not cover leaking, odor issues, fading, staining, repelling, pilling, fuzzy loop closures or other normal wear and tear, and is applicable only to the original purchaser of the products.  Proof of purchase is required.
You are solely responsible for understanding how to care for the items you purchase.  We are not responsible for damage to an item caused by improper care, abuse, misuse, normal fading or normal wear and tear of the product materials. 
This warranty is void when washing instructions have not been followed; bleach, fabric softeners, vinegar, oxy-clean, or any other caustic substances and laundry additives have been used; and when the diapers have been subject to water or drying temperatures above 140F.
While SoftBums are made to last, please remember that reusable diapers are a garment and like any garment are worn down with every use, every wash cycle and every dryer cycle.  Like any garment, they will eventually wear out with continual use, but its possible to make them last much longer by following some simple tips. and Please visit our VIDEO PAGE for more help!

         Make sure you have enough shells so that you don't have to wash every shell you have every time you do diaper laundry.  The number 1 thing that will prolong the life of your diapers is having enough so that each one doesn't get used every single day.  The more you have, the longer all of them will last.

         Never soak your shells (or if you do only soak them in water), never use vinegar or bleach and don't use the sanitize cycle if you have one.  These things can severely degrade every part of your diaper, from the elastic to the fabric itself.  Gentle care will prolong their life, sometimes by more than double.

         Line dry your shells.  If you do use the dryer, never turn it up past medium heat unless you're doing the 15 minute sealing recommended when you first get your shells.  High heat in the dryer is the main reason for degraded hook & loop, and will also harm your bamboo Pods and elastic over time.  For best results, take the Shells out halfway through the dryer cycle and let them air dry the rest of the way.  Because they contain no absorbent material, air drying won't take long and it will prevent a lot of wear and tear.

         If line drying your shells outside, arrange them with the inside facing outwards to minimize sun bleaching.  This isn't harmful to the diaper but it can fade your fabric!

         Though this warranty does not cover leaking, we at SoftBums are ready to help you to be successful with your diapers.  If you're having problems with leaking please contact us at [email protected].  We have many helpful tips, and can usually pinpoint one or two simple things you can do to eliminate leaking.

Items returned to us under warranty will be repaired or replaced at SoftBums's discretion.  Shipping to SoftBums is at your own expense.  We will pay for shipping back to you.  Please contact us at [email protected] to obtain an RMA form, which must be filled out and sent back with your warranty items.  Your name, return address and description of problem must be clearly written and legible on this form.  Remember, if we can't read your address we can't send it back to you!  All RMAs must be accompanied by an RMA form and copy of original receipt from purchase.  SoftBums will not accept items that arrive in an unhygienic state, so please take care to ensure your items are clean before sending.  Once we receive your item please allow up to 1 week to process your RMA and get your repaired or replaced item on its way back to you.  Please make sure you've included phone and/or email  information so we can contact you if we have questions about your return.
