How to Start Cloth Diapering and Save the World

Apr 21st 2018

Want to SAVE THE WORLD? Me too! That's why I cloth diaper. Ok, ok. Maybe I'm not saving the world, but cloth diapering definitely allows me to do my part for the environment.

Disposable diapers are a convenient option but at what cost? They are estimated to take up to 500 years to decompose in landfills. Whose got time for that?

Lots of parents think cloth diapering is difficult or time consuming, but these are not your grandma's cloth diapers! They are just as easy as disposables, cost SO much less and don't fill your garbage can. You can even pick the system that best fits your busy schedule. (Learn more about the many easy-to-use cloth diapering options in out upcoming vlog!)

With Earth Day coming up, it's important to know your facts:
Around 20 BILLION disposable diapers are added to landfills in the United States each year.
Disposables are responsible for 3.5 million tons of waste per year.
Over 200,000 tree are cut down each year to make disposable diapers.

When I read those statistics, I knew cloth diapering was for me. Not to mention the chance to avoid putting all those nasty chemicals up against my baby's cute bum.

Over the next 3-ish years my baby will go through around 6,500 to 10,000 diaper changes and we will do it all without killing a forest!
